We do our best to accept animals requiring new homes as quickly as we can.
How quickly we can accept animals depends on how many animals we currently are housing in our shelter or foster availability.

We may have a waitlist.  Animals are accepted in a priority sequence.

Some additional information:

– We are unable to accept a feral cat into our facility. If you are inquiring about a feral cat
Suggested organizations to contact are: Telephone City Feral Cat Rescue, Etobicoke Humane Society, Hamilton Street Cats or Hamilton/Burlington SPCA

– Surrendering a pet requires a donation to help offset the cost of their care. A
Relinquishment Form/Surrender Form must also be signed at the time the animal is surrendered to us.

– Not all surrender requests will be accepted for admission into our shelter.
You may call the shelter, however, shelter staff have no authority to accept or decline animals.  All
information is sent to an in-take person, who will contact you.  Instructions as to where and when to
transport your animal will be given to you at that time, if your pet is accepted.

We may require up to a week to contact you.

Please make sure all fields are filled out as completely as possible.
